Box Office Breakdown

A movie finally beat the Dark Knight?! Can it be?

1. Tropic Thunder - $25.8 M

Well, it almost made as much as the Dark Knight made last weekend(its fourth in theaters), and beat it for the #1 spot this weekend. That says...something.

2. The Dark Knight - $16.4 M

It may not topple Titanic as the highest grossing film of all time, but it can sit comfortably in second place, this weekend and all time. Honestly, though, who's going to make the case that Titanic is a better, more enjoyable movie?

3. Star Wars: The Clone Wars - $14.6 M

A Star Wars movie debuting at under $15,000,000? A Star Wars movie that can't beat a movie that's been out for a MONTH?! I know, it's not exactly the Phantom Menace or anything(ouch), but word-of-mouth must have really killed this one before it even got off the ground.

4. Mirrors - $11.2 M

Kiefer Sutherland in a crappy horror movie apparently warrants fourth place in the box office. Who knew?

5. Pineapple Express - $9.81 M

Pineapple Express is, thankfully, still hanging in there for its second weekend.
